    Systems Analyst

 

The Job Role

Systems Analysts , also known as Systems Architects , solve computer problems and apply computer technology to meet the individual needs of an organization.

They plan and develop new computer systems or devise ways to apply existing systems for business solutions.

They demonstrate both programming and systems analysis proficiency utilizing techniques such as:

• data modeling

• information engineering

• mathematical model building

• sampling

• cost accounting

Most Systems Analysts work with specific types of systems; business, accounting or financial systems, or specific scientific and engineering systems.

They also:

• manage projects

• prepare cost-benefit and return
  -on-investment analysis

• serve as a technical resource to
  marketing and sales staff

• act as team members in
  developing solutions

• have excellent interpersonal
  skills and business awareness

Recommended Education:

• 2-year Associate's Degree

• Bachelor's Degree in computer
  science or information systems

• Experience and / or technical
  certifications
